Saturday Men’s Meeting: Our next meeting is on Saturday, April 21 at 8:30 am. We will continue our discussion of the book, “The Soul of Shame,” by Curt Thompson, MD. Our focus this week will be Chapter 1, Our Problem with Shame. We invite all men to join us at Freedom Blend Coffee, 2329 Hickman Road, Des Moines. For more information, contact Nate Hurst.
Lettow – Our next meeting will be Sunday, April 22, from 6-8 PM at the Lettow home. We will be discussing Chapter 16 in the book, “Knowing Christ.” Call Kurt at (515) 250-4647, or Peggy at (515) 250-5048 if you have questions..

Redeemer Cake Wars: Everyone ages 0-109 is welcome to participate in, watch, and/or judge the Redeemer Cake Wars this Wednesday, April 18, at 6:00 pm. Adults, help us form community with our youth by competing alongside them.
Women’s Book Study: The April Women’s Book Study will meet at 6:30 pm this Thursday, April 19 at the home of Carrie Vance. We will start off discussing Section 3 of Eve In Exile and see where the conversation takes us. Carrie’s address is 4711 Kingman Blvd, Des Moines, IA 0311. Her phone number is (515) 279-2398.

Potluck: Potluck Sunday on May 6 falls one day after the annual celebration of Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for “Fifth of May”), also know as the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla. May 5th is a holiday celebrated in parts of Mexico in honor of a critical Mexican military victory in May 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III. The celebration has evolved over time and across many countries. In the U.S., the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture and is celebrated in a variety of ways across the U.S. Redeemer will celebrate Cinco de Mayo as the theme for the May 6 potluck. RPC Women’s Retreat: The RPC Women’s Retreat will be at Wesley Woods, Indianola, on October 5-6, 2018. A one-day only option will be offered on the registration form. Laurie Jensen will be leading presentations using “The Emotionally Healthy Woman” by Geri Scazzero. Please put this event on you calendar and plan to attend. The current planning team (Donna J. and Janelle L.) needs your help! We will be organizing this event over the summer, so please raise your hand soon so we can count on you!
